Ke$ha concert taps worst of party pop

While Ke$ha's blip of a show Thursday night at The Rave delivered little in the way of actual performance, it did offer a discouraging snapshot of nfl jerseys a generation weened on boozy, sex-obsessed reality television.
Ke$ha rose to fame with songs about partying with abandon, and on Thursday, many female fans of the glittery pop starlet were locked in a figurative arms race to see who could be the drunkest, most scandalously dressed in the audience.
Several young women were slumped over and vomiting in the venue's parking lot well before their hero - a Lady Gaga-lite who replaced the "s" in her name with a dollar sign - took the stage of a packed Eagles Ballroom, The Rave's largest hall.
At this early stage in her career, Ke$ha has had minimal live experience, and she offered just enough in the way of performance and inane banter to keep her fans locked into the catchy synth-pop of her debut album, "Animal." It was fitting that when the blond, glitter-doused pop singer took to the stage in black boots, a ripped-up Metallica T-shirt, feathery army helmet, lace tights and holding a prop guitar, her first song was "Blah Blah Blah," a tune about talking a lot New England Patriots jersey without saying much.
Flanked by American-flag draped speakers and dancers wearing glam metal-indebted outfits, Ke$ha buzzed through a set that lasted hardly an hour with encore included.
She paused occasionally between songs to announce what the next tune was about: "This is my new single. It's about taking your clothes off!" (for "Take It Off")," or, "This song is about partying at a rich dude's house!" (for "Party at a Rich Dude's House").
If you had actually woken up and brushed your teeth with a bottle of Jack Daniels, as Ke$ha sings about on her biggest hit and set closer, "TiK ToK," you may have danced yourself silly and had a good time. If not, you probably wondered what all the New Orleans Saints jersey buzz over Ke$ha is about.
