World Cup favourites Spain continued their unbelievable run of 42 victories from their last 45 matches with a fine 2-0 win in the French capital. First-half goals from David Villa and Sergio Ramos got the job done.
Still Spanish boss Vicente Del Bosque said: “It's been a nice victory, but there were good things and bad in the game. Maybe the result is better than the game, although we were not bad in possession. But the second half was lacklustre. We needed to be more aggressive in front of goal.”
Switzerland 1 Uruguay 3 in St Gallen
Ottmar Hitzfeld's Switzerland suffered their second loss in a row as their World Cup preparations hit a snag following a 3-1 home defeat to Uruguay. Gokhan Inler had put them ahead from the penalty spot before the South Americans came back emphatically.
Hitzfeld, who used the Uruguay game as practice for their group clash with Chile, said: "Chile are better than Uruguay so we can see what we're up against in the World Cup if we can't beat Uruguay.”
Turkey 2 Honduras 0 in Istanbul
Honduras, who will compete in their first World Cup for 28 years, suffered a tough 2-0 loss in the Turkish capital. But the match is seen as important for Honduras who need high-profile matches in preparation for the World Cup.
Head of the Honduras national team committee, Rafael Ferrari, said: "(Turkey) gave us a good examination and we'd never faced rivals with the qualities of the Turks. I hope (coach Reinaldo) Rueda comes to some very good conclusions to fix our mistakes.”

There was a handful of NFL jerseys midweek matches in the English Premier League, with only Chelsea playing out of the title challengers. But the Blues claimed an important victory, 5-0 at bottom-club Portsmouth, with Didier Drogba beginning to lead the way.
Champions League hopefuls Manchester City crashed to a 2-0 home defeat by Everton, with boss Roberto Mancini boiling over the on the touchline. Seventh-placed Aston Villa failed to take advantage when they could've gone fifth, after an uninspiring 1-1 home draw with Sunderland.
In the battle to avoid the drop, West Ham lost their fifth consecutive match to further endanger their survival aspirations. The Hammers went down 3-1 at home to fellow battlers Wolverhampton, to put Gianfranco Zola's job at risk. West Ham are 17th, just three points out of the bottom three.

Spurs recent away form is inconsistent with three wins, four draws and three losses from their last ten away league games. Both of their wins against Arsenal and Chelsea came at White Hart Lane and with this being an away match I cannot see them winning again.

2008 Denver Broncos Preview
Offense
Quarterback Jay Cutler (467 ATT, 297 COMP, 3,497 YDS, 20 TDs, 14 INT), who starts Soccer jerseyshis third NFL season, is a talented competitor. WR Brandon Marshall (102 REC, 1,325 YDS, 13.0 AVG, 7 TDs) and WR Tony Scheffler (49 REC, 549 YDS, 11.2 AVG. 5 TDs) lead a deep and athletic receiving unit. With wideout Javon Walker going to Oakland, Marshall becomes the featured pass catcher. However, Marshall was in a car accident in the off-season and may not be ready to go at the top of 2008. Both O-line and running game are weak.
Defense
Corner back Champ Bailey, who was ineffective in 2007, is focused on being a game changing force in 2008. Safety Dre’ Bly (5 INT) is a sound performer. The secondary needs more depth. Linebacker, D.J. Williams, who transfers to the weak side from the middle, had 141 tackles in 2007. Boss Bailey, an excellent strong side performer, has to maintain his health for this unit to be effective. The D-line needs to be improved.
Special Teams
Place Kicker and game winner Jason Elam went to the Falcons. The Broncos will miss his clutch performances. Kicker Matt Prater, who was charged with kickoffs last season, may become the field goal kicker too. He must be more consistent to hold onto that job. Draft-pick Eddie Royal, a speedy runner, stands to improve the return game.
Overview
Don’t look for the Broncos to be in the post-season in 2008. The D- and O-lines are both works-in-progress. But another year of good draft picks, some free agent signings and experience garnered this season will help create a better Bronco team in 2009. They have some fine young talent to develop

Miami Heat 46-35
Thanks to a lot of D-Wade and a more consistent effort from his teammates, the Miami Heat have caught fire, winning 10 of its last 11 games and 13 of its last 16 games to move solidly into the fifth spot in the East playoffs. While Miami has heated up nicely over the last month, the team has gone just 4-4 ATS over the last eight games and 1-3 ATS over the last four. Prior to that however, the Heat had cashed in for backers in five of soccer jerseys six contests.
